With
her grandfather being a painter and her father being a woodcarver,
Christine Musser (nee Merrikin) has known she wanted to be an artist
since the age of 4. Shortly after graduating with a degree in
Illustration from the Rhode Island School of Design, she moved into
a small live/work studio in Fremont (a neighborhood in Seattle, WA)
and began experimenting with painting on multiple layers on
plexiglass (which are then sandwiched to form the entire
composition).
Inspired by the idea of working in mediums which can be worn as well
as be one-of-a-kind works of art, she began painting on silk in 1998
and started the glass jewelry line soon after. In addition to her
wearable art pieces, Christine also paints on canvas, paper, designs
illustrations/graphics for print and web and also creates fused
glass.
